Inside,Outside Show, Gloucester

Empty shop units at Merchants Quay on Gloucester Docks were rejuvenated as part of Gloucester Art Trail. The artdepot was invited to show members’ work during the summer of 2007, alongside work of Gloucester artists. Initially, the ex-pizza restaurant on the corner was host to a dazzling display of our pieces. Paintings, photographs, sculpture, mosaics and kiln-fired glass transformed the restaurant into a gallery space. Floods threatened all, and intrepid volunteers moved everything up or away, then back again. The displays were renewed and refreshed a number of times, and artdepot pieces are now happily mingling with those of artists from all over Gloucestershire, in a display that stretched right around the shopping arcade. Planning, organising, co-ordination and sales were all handled by Sabre Art Gallery, Quedgely as part of Gloucester’s Art Trail.
